Old Greenwich is the easternmost neighborhood of Greenwich, Connecticut, and it is one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the area. Sitting on a peninsula, Old Greenwich has incredible water access and a beach town vibe. The area’s history dates back to the niece of John Winthrop, Elizabeth Fones, who purchased most of the land in this area in 1640. Innis Arden Golf Club is a great place for members to spend time golfing and playing racquet sports, and there is even a swimming pool available. Also popular in the area is Binney Park, which has soccer fields and a large pond that is perfect for ice skating in the winter. In the summers, local children can enroll in summer camps at the Old Greenwich-Riverside Community Center, a local staple in educational programming and community events.
Old Greenwich has many events to enjoy throughout the year. Binney Park hosts an annual 4th of July celebration with fireworks, and in the winter, it’s the place to be for those who love ice skating. Rocky Point Beach Club is a low-key private beach club on Long Island Sound which is also a local favorite.
