The Museum is thrilled to celebrate their first birthday with community partners: go on a tree tour with the Greenwich Tree Conservancy, learn about eclipses with the Astronomical Society, create a historic quill pen with the Greenwich Historical Society, and more. Visit their workshops and meet the team of in-house educators who will be running STEAM activities.

Andy Warhol: Small is Beautiful Exhibit
April 9th | Bruce Museum

A leading figure of the Pop Art movement, Andy Warhol produced some of the most celebrated imagery of the twentieth century.

Organized thematically, Andy Warhol: small is beautiful provides an intimate look at the artist’s best-known subjects. Key works include an early iteration of Campbell’s Soup Can (1961) along with celebrated self-portraits and portraits of artists, friends, celebrities, and political figures including Joseph Beuys, Roy Lichtenstein, and Mao Zedong. The exhibition concludes with the Shadow Paintings, Oxidation Paintings, and Positive/Negative series, which reveal a late-career tendency toward abstraction and nonrepresentational subject matter. The minute scale of each of these works invites visitors to look more closely and to discover why small is beautiful.

This exhibition is presented in partnership with the Hall Art Foundation.
