August Events In Greenwich

I am excited to share with you some Greenwich community events to add fun to your August calendar! Looking forward to seeing you throughout the month!

Greenwich Farmer's Market

Every Saturday | 9:30am-1:00pm | Greenwich Municipal Parking Lot

The market is open each Saturday through November 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located at the Greenwich municipal parking lot at the corner of Horseneck Lane and Arch Street, exit 3 off I-95.

Purchase fresh vegetables, fruit, honey, microgreens, jams and preserves, plants, beef, poultry, lamb, pork, eggs, cheeses, herbs, raw milk, maple syrup, seafood, mushrooms, coffee, juices, flowers, breads, pies, and more!

Pets are not allowed in the market area.

YWCA Self Defense Class

August 3rd | 10:30am-11:30am | YWCA of Greenwich

Join the YWCA as they partner with Modern Self-Defense for a women’s empowerment training class to help protect against physical violence.

This class will teach you techniques and give you the confidence to defend yourself in any situation.

Free for teens and adults ages 15 and up

Family Movie Night - "Wonka"

August 5th | 6:45pm | Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center

Movie starts at dusk.

Bring family, friends, a blanket, lawn chairs and popcorn or snacks.

St. Roch's Fest 2024

August 7th-10th | St. Roch Church

From August 7th to August 10th, St. Roch’s Roman Catholic Church will be transformed into the heart of an exciting street festival. Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with rides, games, music, and mouthwatering Italian delicacies!

Silver Steel Drum Band | Music on the Great Lawn

August 8th | 6:30pm-8:30pm | YWCA of Greenwich

Escape to the tropics with the vibrant sounds of the Silver Steel Drum Band. This festival band brings the joy of island music, playing everything from Calypso classics to Disney tunes and even rock favorites reimagined on the enchanting steel pans.

Garden Classic

August 10th | 2:00pm-7:00pm | Greenwich Historical Society

Dress to impress in your garden-inspired best—think pastels, florals, flowy sundresses, oversized hats, and colorful pocket squares! This event will feature a botanical-themed luncheon, complete with hors d'oeuvres, signature cocktails, live music and entertainment.

This year’s event is a commitment to building a brighter future for our kids. All event proceeds will directly support Heart & Purpose's core programming, which includes providing educational resources, mentorship, and life-skills development to youth in Stamford and Haiti.

South Salem Fire Department Annual Carnival & Parade

August 11th-14th | 6:00pm-10:00pm | South Salem Fire Department

Carnival fun (rides, games, food, prizes) on four consecutive evenings:

*Parade kicks off at 7:00pm

Thursday, August 12th, 6:00pm - 10:00pm

Friday, August 13th, 6:00pm - 10:00pm

Saturday, August 14th, 5:00pm - 10:00pm

$25 wristbands per person for unlimited rides on the night purchased will be sold each night.

The Sun Kings: A Beatles Tribute | Music on the Great Lawn

August 22nd| 6:30pm-8:00pm | YWCA of Greenwich

Celebrate the music of one of the most influential bands of all time with The Sun Kings: A Beatles Tribute. This Connecticut-based band faithfully recreates the iconic sound of The Beatles, with tight harmonies, intricate guitar work, and a driving backbeat that will have you swaying to all your favorite Fab Four hits.
