Self Defense Class with Greenwich Police Department

Empower yourself with practical self-defense skills in a supportive environment! This class, led by the Greenwich Police Department, will cover a variety of essential techniques, including:

Hawk Watch Weekend
October 4th & 5th | 9:00am-2:00pm | Greenwich Audubon Center
Learn all about the amazing birds of prey that migrate through Connecticut each year through live raptor presentations, educational workshops, and by taking part in our annual Hawk Watch!
This year’s event will feature bird-related activities for all ages with the goal of inspiring conservation in our communities.

Walk the Walk & 5K Run Against Domestic Violence
October 6th | 8:15am | Roger Sherman Baldwin Park
To kick off Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness month, YWCA Greenwich is hosting the 2024 Walk the Walk & 5K Run Against Domestic Violence. This annual event supports The Harmony Project to raise funds and awareness for free domestic and sexual violence services at YWCA Greenwich, including counseling, crisis intervention, emergency shelter, criminal court advocacy, and a 24/7 hotline.
Pumpkins & Pints

Museum Movers: Yoga for Kids
October 12th | 11:00am-12:00pm | Bruce Museum
“Museum Movers” a Bruce Museum yoga class for learners ages 3-6 and their grownups. Participants will explore the Bruce Museum’s galleries using a variety of sensory and experiential modalities, followed by an exhibition inspired yoga class. Museum Movers uses movement, breath, group games and creative activities to reinforce the gallery experience. Come have fun in our galleries and get to know the Bruce in a whole new way.
Wear comfortable clothing and be ready to take your shoes and socks off! Please bring your own mat.
GEMS Halloween Haunt
October 18th | 4:00pm | Bruce Museum
GEMS is bringing Halloween to Town of Greenwich residents this year! A decorated ambulance and GEMS staff dressed up in costumes will visit neighborhoods to safely distribute Halloween treats on.
October 18th | 7:00pm-10:00pm | Round Hill Community House
Join Round Hill Volunteer Fire Company for their annual OKTOBERFEST, a fun, community celebration with beer, bratwurst and good times!
Join them to celebrate the start of their long-awaited modernization and renovation of their firehouse. All proceeds benefit the backcountry all-volunteer firehouse!
Bring your friends along for an unforgettable authentic Bavarian Oktoberfest, complete with beer (and wine), bratwurst, pretzels, a lively Bavarian-style band, an incredible auction, and our Chief in authentic lederhosen! It’s going to be a great party!
Come and celebrate, raise your stein, and toast the volunteers of Round Hill Volunteer Fire Company!

Old Greenwich School Pumpkin Patch
October 19th | 11:00am-4:00pm | Old Greenwich School
The 54th Annual Pumpkin Patch will take place on Saturday, October 19th, from 11am-4pm at the Old Greenwich School. This year, we are thrilled to introduce new features, including live entertainment, which promises to add a unique and exciting element to this beloved event. Attendees will enjoy fall-themed activities, food trucks, live animals, inflatables, raffle prizes and more!
Go Wild! 25th Anniversary Family Field Day
October 20th| 2:00pm-5:30pm | Greenwich Polo Club
All ages are invited to enjoy the 25th anniversary party at the Greenwich Polo Fields at Conyers Farm in North Greenwich. There will be something for everyone to enjoy – a rock-climbing wall, petting zoo, bungee trampolines, corn maze, animal encounters, gaga courts, autumn crafts, and much more!
60th Annual Model Sailboat Regatta
October 20th | 1:00pm-4:00pm | Binney Park
This year’s regatta is in its 60th year and is on Sunday, October 20th from 1-4pm in Binney Park. This event will once again draw model sailboat enthusiasts of all ages from the community. Categories for homemade boats, motorized and remote controlled boats are spread out throughout the afternoon. Bring a picnic lunch and join in on the fun! $10 per entry with a $25 family maximum. New this year we will offer 12″ sailboat kits for $35 – pick up at our office. All funds raised go to the OGRCC’s scholarship fund that supports 65 families each year.
Halloween Happenings
October 25th | 5:45pm-7:00pm | Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center
Come in costume! Dance to music in Dracula’s Den while playing games and collecting candy and prizes! All children 3 years and up with tickets will receive a candy/treat bag. Halloween arts and crafts project provided per child. Light refreshments provided. $12 per person (Ages 3 years and up) Advanced purchase of tickets required; Limited space. Age appropriate for children 3-10 years old. Maximum two adult tickets and five child tickets per household. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone must have a ticket.
Halloween Fun Day
October 26th | 4:00pm | YMCA of Greenwich
Put on your most bewitching costumes and join us as we have conjured up a cauldron of fun activities to make your day memorable:
• Halloween Themed Arts and Crafts Table
• Bounce House: Bounce, jump, and play to your heart's content in our inflatable castle.
• Refreshments: Enjoy some ghoulishly good popcorn, along with refreshments.
• Trick-or-Treat Stations: Collect candies and surprises at our trick-or-treat stations.
• Goodie Bags: Every participant gets a special treat to take home.
The Great Pupkin Howl-O-Ween Festival
October 26th | 1:00pm-3:00pm | Harbor point Commons Park
Join Harbor Pets in Commons Park for the Great Pupkin Howl-O-Ween Festival on Saturday, October 26, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for a fun-filled afternoon with furry friends: costume contest, doggy games, dog and owner snacks, a haunted dog house just for the pups, Police K9 demonstration, and a variety of exciting pet product vendors.
No dog? Stop by and enjoy the cuteness, we plan to have dogs available for adoption!
